Research interests

I am interested in understanding and promoting mental health among children and teachers.

My primary focus has been on suicide prevention in educational settings and understating the mechanisms underlying suicide behavior among adolescents. In addition, I have been examining the distinct social and emotional pathways leading to an increase of depression and suicide risk among at risk groups such as autistic individuals, immigrants, ethnic minorities and bullying victims.

I am passionate about translating the knowledge gained from my studies into evidence-based interventions that promote mental health and social emotional resilience. I have developed and tested several resilience and suicide prevention interventions.
